I want to be a fit geek

I’m BACK!

Oh my stars, I haven’t updated in forever. I’ve been through some rough shit since my last update, I’d rather not get into it. But I am back! So, lets update anyone who is interested in my recent physical activity!

I kind of gave up on the couch to 5k. I do plan on restarting sometime in the near future. As of right now, I’m doing a 30 day ab challenge as well as a 30day squat challenge (on day 2 of each). Also, I joined a roller derby team! I’m skating at least twice a week (about 2 hours each night). My current weight is 152. I had gained over the winter, got back up to 160, and in the last month or so I’ve taken off 8lbs :D

I still need to get my diet back under control, if I can do that maybe I can up my weight loss to like, 2lbs a week :) that would be AWESOME!

feeling very proud of myself today

I FINALLY FINISHED A WEEK 4 C25K WORKOUT! I’ve been struggling with this one for weeks. I’ve had knee problems to contend with, so I’ve just repeating this week over and over until I could finish at least one workout without killing myself totally and completely. I feel so accomplished! I’ll do another week of week 4 before trying to take on the week 5 workouts :) It may not be their schedule exactly, but I still feel that I’m making progress at a good rate :)

Who ran for 1/2 a mile today?

Oh yeah, that would be me :D Walk a 1/4 mile, run 1/2mile, repeat. Who rocks? I rock. Feeling pretty good about myself today :D I’m down 10lbs so far, and I can run for way longer than I ever could before in my entire life. I could get used to this :) Closer to fitting into my pre-pregnancy clothes :)

Workout for the kids :) It’ll kick your butt too!

So I made a workout for the kids, since they seem to want to do everything I’m doing, but can quite handle some of the harder exercises. Got my heart rate going too :) I’ve seen similar workouts floating around the web, and it could easily be modified to better kick your butt :D but it was made with my 5, 7 and 8 year olds in mind :)

It seems like a lot, but they had a blast :)

We then went outside and jumped rope for like 10 minutes, before they decided it was time to chase each other around :)

*a kicker is an exercise I used to do in a dance class. Hop on one foot with the other knee bent at 90. When you’re up, extend your bent leg, when you hit the ground your leg should be back at 90.Think of an Irish step dancer.

THIS! I feel like I jog super slow at 4 - 4.5mph, but then I remind myself that I was at 0mph just a month ago. And I won’t be that slow forever! Once my body realizes how much it loves to run (and it will, eventually), I’ll be unstoppable!

Today will not be a lazy Sunday

Sunday is usually my rest day, but I did NOTHING on Thursday, and yesterday was kind of a joke, so I’ve decided I need to do something today. Nothing major or totally killer, just something. Wish my body agreed with me :( Started my period, so I’m dragging. Not really cramping this month though, I wonder if it’s because of all the exercise? Or how I’ve been eating perhaps? Either way I’m not complaining. Wish the headache and allergy meds would kick in though, my head feels too small for my sinuses >_<

But what to do today? Think I may take the dog for a jog this evening (my oldest wants to come with me, so it’s more likely to happen than not), but I want to do more today. Hubby is at work and I’ve got all 4 boys, so something I can include the older 3 in is probably best. A jumping jack competition perhaps? Jumping rope? They can hula hoop, but I can’t yet :( Too much flub around my tummy. A walk to the park after the baby’s nap is probably going to happen.

As for quitting smoking, yeah, that didn’t happen. I tried to bump my quit date up and just wasn’t as prepared as I thought I was. I need to figure out how to deal with the stress my boys throw at me.

I wish I didn’t want to take a nap so bad. Think it’s time for that jumping jack competition, need to get my blood moving and wake up.
